For those persons (groups of 10) requiring dormitory accommodation please contact Dr. Francois Blin at (2)I am very pleased to inform you that our Vietnamese Brothers and Sisters from Vietnam have formed their own Catholic Doctors Association recently. It is called the Catholic Doctors Association of HCMC. Dr. Pham thi Chi Lan is their President . Dr. Phan is the Vice-President and Father John Toai is their Chaplain. Dr. Chi Lan's e-mail is clanpham@gmail.com.
They are keen to join AFCMA/FIAMC. We hope that they will be represented at the 15th AFCMA Congress in Bali, Indonesia and give us their country report. You may remember that last year, Dr. Buichi from the Japan Catholic Doctors Association, Dr. Leonard Chan from Western Australia Catholic Doctors Assoc. and myslf representing the Catholic Doctors Assoc. of Malaysia jointly went to Ho Chi Min City as part of our AFCMA Outreach program to help the HIV patients of Ho Chi Min City and to relocate their HIV Clinic called the Mai Khoi Clinic. I am glad to inform you that the mission is successfully completed by the efforts of the 3 Associations which had to source for funds individually.
That is all for now. We hope to see some of you in Lourdes in May 2010.
Thank you and God Bless!
Yours Sincerely in Christ,
Dr. Freddie Loh,
President AFCMA

Subject: Lourdes Congress

Dear All,

A lot of you have had queries regarding the registration. Freddie and I have been trying very hard to get some clarifications from the organisers of the Lourdes Congress regarding registration. Here is a smmmary of the discussions. Unfortunately we have been unable to wrangle much concessons from them. The normal registration fee for Congress participants is Euro 350 which includes accommodations, all meals and transfer to and from airport. Accompanying persons get a discount of Euro 100 and not Euro 75 as mentioned earlier. For delegations which want cheaper accommodations dormitory style the registration fees is Euro 290 but they must be organised in groups of 10 and must be registered through Dr Francois Blin. I understand that you can also register for the Congress at Euro 175 which does not include meals or accommodations.

My personal experience with Lourdes is that if you are going with an accompanying person iit might be cheaper to get travel agent. I managed to get lodging at a decent hotel about 200m from the basilica for about Euro 75 per night which can sleep 2 or 3 persons.

I am trying to organise some scholarships for Asian countries. If you or your national organisation can contribute please contact me. Your help will be greatly appreciated. I have enclosed a brochure from the organisers for your perusal.

Thank you and God bless,
John Lee
