Scientific Advances and Ethical Dilemmas
Dear Friend,
I have the pleasure to inform you that the official site of the International Congress on Life-Sustaining Treatments and Vegetative State, which will be held in Rome from March 17th to March 20th, 2004 is finally on the web at www.vegetativestate.org .
The site can be visited both in English and in Italian.
The Congress, which is organized by FIAMC and the Pontifical Academy of Life, will probably mark a milestone in the current debate about Euthanasia and the therapeutic approach to chronic incurable patients.
You are warmly invited to consider your participation in the Congress.
In addition, I would like to ask all of you to do all you can to help circulate the information, announcing the web site of the Congress on the web sites of your institutions or on other sites you might deem useful, as well as on bulletins or journals which could be of similar interest. In particular, it is important to create direct links to the website of the Congress from all the websites you may have access to.
If you have addresses of individuals or institutions who would like to receive information on the Congress, please send them over to us. We will add them to our mailing list.
